What types of items does Tivoli accept for consignment? - We accept a variety of beautiful, preloved items, including vases, bookends, candlesticks, pottery, kitchen and bar items, etched and unique crystal and glasses, tea and coffee items, and bar items like shakers, ice buckets, wine coasters, small tables, occasional chairs, fine jewelry, gently used women’s daily wear.
2. What are your consignment policies? - Our consignment period is three months, with the possibility of extending based on interest or seasonal changes. Payments are made monthly if over $100 or at the contract closeout at the three-month mark. Clothing consignment is accepted Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from noon to 5 pm, no appointment necessary. Small household items can be consigned by sending pictures to our store cell phone 415-559-7149 or visiting on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. For furniture, please send a photo in advance, and we can arrange pickup in Southern Marin for a nominal fee to be deducted upon sale of items. Christmas items are accepted all year round.
3. How do I prepare my items for consignment? - Please ensure all items are clean and in good condition. For clothing, make sure they are freshly laundered. For small household items and furniture, please provide clear photos when sending pictures to our store's phone number.
4. What is the process for consigning items at Tivoli? - For clothing, bring your items to the store on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday from noon to 5 pm, no appointment necessary. For small household items, you can either visit us during the same hours or send pictures to our store's phone number. For furniture, please send a photo in advance to arrange for pickup.
5. How are payments made for consigned items? - Payments are made monthly if your total is over $100. If your total is less than $100, you will receive payment at the closeout of the three-month consignment period.
6. Can I extend my consignment period beyond three months? - Yes, extensions are possible based on interest in your items or changes in seasons. Please contact us to discuss extending your consignment period.
7. Do you offer gift wrapping services? - Yes, we offer complimentary gift wrapping services for items purchased from Tivoli. We take pride in ensuring that each gift is beautifully presented, adorning each gift with a colorful ribbon. To us, the presentation of your gift is as important as the gift itself.
8. What happens if my items don't sell within the consignment period? - If your items do not sell within the consignment period, you have the option to pick them up or extend the consignment period. If you choose not to pick up, items may be donated or marked down for a clearance sale at our discretion.
9. How can I stay updated on new arrivals and sales at Tivoli? - Follow us on Instagram and sign up for our newsletter on our website to stay updated on new arrivals, sales, and special events. We regularly post updates and showcase our latest finds on social media.
10. Do you accept items for consignment year-round? - Yes, we accept items for consignment throughout the year. This includes seasonal items like Christmas decorations.
11. Can I get an appraisal for my items before consigning them? - While we do not provide formal appraisals, our experienced staff can give you an estimate of what we believe your items can sell for in our store. This is based on our knowledge of the market, similar items we have sold, and research we do to see what current sales are online.
12. How do you determine the price of consigned items? - Prices are determined based on the item's condition, market demand, and our knowledge of similar items. We strive to set fair and competitive prices to ensure your items sell while maximizing your return.
13. Can I consign large quantities of items at once? - Yes, you can consign large quantities of items. For such consignments, especially for household cleanouts or estate sales, please contact us in advance to arrange a suitable time for drop-off or pickup.
14. Do you offer any special services for downsizing or estate sales? - Yes, we specialize in helping people downsize and manage estate sales. We can assist with the entire process, from evaluating items to arranging pickup and sale. Please contact us for more details.
